Am I entitled to a full refund if an item is faulty?

Something faulty? You can get a full refund within 30 days. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 changed our right to reject something faulty, and be entitled to a full refund in most cases, from a reasonable time to a fixed period (in most cases) of 30 days.

What happens if the goods you bought are faulty?

If a fault develops soon after you purchased an item, or if it was faulty straight away, meaning the goods are not of satisfactory quality, then you are entitled to a full refund from the retailer. You must give the seller clear notice that the item is rejected within 30 days for a refund to be given.

Can a shop legally refuse a refund?

You can only return store-bought non-faulty goods for an exchange or refund if the retailer has a returns policy. It’s worth noting that shops aren’t required by law to have a returns policy, but if they do have one they must stick to it. Returns policies are usually displayed on receipts, on signs in store and online.
