Your bank account information cannot be changed. The bank account information in Get My Payment came from one of the following sources: Your 2020 tax return. Your 2019 tax return if your 2020 return was not processed when the IRS started issuing payments.
Can I update my bank account with the IRS?
The bank account update feature was added to the Child Tax Credit Update Portal, available only on IRS.gov. The IRS encourages people without current bank account information to use the tool to update their information so they can get the payments sooner.

Do you need to change bank account to get stimulus check?
Or if and when there is a secons stimulus check, TT will probably be able to give you a link to whatever IRS site allows you to change banking information. But, no, there are no guidelines now. If you need to change your address with the IRS you can do that now by sending in a change of address to the IRS.
How are the stimulus checks going to be sent out?
The IRS is sending out stimulus checks of $1,200 to most Americans, as well as $500 for most child dependents. Most Americans will receive the checks via direct deposit, with the IRS using the bank account information of their 2019 or 2018 filed tax returns.
How to cash a stimulus check with an expired ID?
Go to a check cashing place like Amscot and they will cash it for you for a minor fee. OR get a friend or relative of yours to cash it for you. You will have to endorse it over to them. Take your check to a bank/credit union and open a checking account with it. The bank/credit union will hold your funds for up to 5 days to make sure it clears.
