In order to qualify for a CARES Act Grant, students must meet all existing Title IV eligibility requirements, which includes completion of a valid 2020-21 FAFSA, as well as the FAFSA verification process. In addition to the FAFSA, students must submit an online application and: be Title IV Eligible. be enrolled.

Need: HEERF-student share dollars are to aid students for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus; this is different than a change in a student’s financial need due to COVID-19, which could be a result of a loss of income rather than new expenses.
Can I get CARES Act twice?
Yes. Students may receive additional funding if they meet eligibility criteria and have additional expenses.
Is there another CARES Act for Students 2021?
The CARES Act protections are still in place, meaning that waived interest and deferred payments on federal student loans through September 30, 2021. The waived interest and deferred payments are automatic, so you do not need to contact your loan servicer.
Is it too late to apply for CARES Act?
The USDA’s deadline for requesting a CARES Act forbearance is September 30, 2021. In addition to CARES Act forbearances, the USDA is offering year-long forbearances to direct home loan borrowers who’ve been impacted by the coronavirus crisis.

How are esser funds awarded under the CARES Act?
The U.S. DOE awarded ESSER funds to state educational agencies (SEAs). Under the CARES Act, SEAs had until July 1, 2020, to apply for ESSER funds. SEAs then received grants to distribute to local educational agencies (LEAs). SEAs have discretion in awarding about 10% of these funds.
