As a general rule, if you make more than $600 in a calendar year, Postmates will usually send you a Form 1099. If you make less than $600 a year, you won’t receive a 1099 from them, but you will still have to report the gross amount to the IRS. The IRS requires them to send out their 1099s by January 31st.
How do I claim my Postmates on my taxes?
To start recording your mileage, you can press the green “+” button on your Tax Savings screen in the app, then click “Track my miles.” (See screenshots in Question 1 in the “Deductions for Postmates” section above).
