How to contact IRS about CP14?

Call us at 1-800-xxx-xxxx to review your account with a representative. Be sure to have your account information available when you call. We’ll assume you agree with the information in this notice if we don’t hear from you. You can also pay by debit or credit card for a small fee.
What is notice CP14 from IRS?
If you filed a tax return and owed taxes, but didn’t pay them, you probably have received your first notice from the IRS requesting your payment: the CP14, Balance Due. These notices also explain that you owe a penalty for not paying your taxes by the filing deadline.
How to pay for CP14?
Pay the Amount Due. You can make the payment indicated on the Notice CP14 using IRS Direct Pay, a service that allows you to electronically pay your taxes directly from your savings or checking account. Alternatively, you can pay by credit or debit card.
What happens if I get a CP14 notice from the IRS?
If you paid your tax bill but the IRS still sent you a CP14 notice, please be aware that due to their backlog, they may not have registered your proof of payment yet and you might receive a second notice. Also, make sure funds remain available and don’t cancel any check you sent. A CP14 notice means that you owe money on unpaid taxes.
What should the amount on a CP14 be?
In almost all situations, the amount on a CP14 should match what the IRS thinks you owe. This would be either based on your original return or based on previous IRS adjustments. If the IRS made adjustments, you would disagree with that notice rather than the CP14.
Where do I call to get my CP14 notice?
Call us at the toll-free number on the top right corner of your notice. Please have your paperwork (such as cancelled checks, amended return, etc.) ready when you call. Am I charged interest on the money I owe?
What’s the difference between the notice 1052 and the original notice?
Instead of the IRS redoing the original notice, the Notice 1052 tells you the new date that you have to pay or respond by. If you already paid, see above. The IRS also says it mailed 11,000 notices without the Notice 1052 when the Notice 1052 should have been included. It will be contacting those taxpayers separately.
